just when I'd decided to skip september turns as a sacrifice to Ullr....the forecast starts to look really promising for the last day of the month....<br><br>rainier forecast:<br>THURSDAY NIGHT...SHOWERS LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL 7000 FEET. <br>.FRIDAY...RAIN AND SNOW LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL 6000 FEET. <br>.FRIDAY NIGHT...SHOWERS LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL 6000 FEET. <br>.SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. <br>SNOW LEVEL 6000 FEET. <br><br><br><br>

lara, perhaps someone in the WAC is spreading rumors about me...but I've never been to alaska in the winter to climb. I'm far to fond of my fingers and toes to ever try a stunt like that.<br>When i went to Denali it was in May...a far more reasonable time to monkey around up there.

I just thought it was winter-May, January, eh, not much difference at 20,000'

Letting go of a streak due to injury, world travel or, say, involuntary incarceration is one thing. Quitting voluntarily is entirely different. Think how irritated you'll be when someone else posts about the invigorating ski tour they had Friday...in an inch of fresh snow on the Muir snowfield. What's a few hours of terrible suffering in marginal conditions compared to a lifetime of regrets?<br><br>
