About a month ago I bought a pair of Garmont Syner-gs and they are giving me cankles. Every time I ski them my ankles get, and stay, swollen and sore for days. Has anybody else ever had this problem? Is it a technique thing? My previous boots were Veloces, which I skied for four years, and before that Supercomps, so I am used to skiing a lot from my ankles. Am I fighting the boots and needing to change my technique? Also, somehow I managed to put a gash almost all the way through the bellows on the OUTSIDE of the left boot skiing at Alpental on Sunday. I have no idea how it happened; I just looked down...and there it was. Any ideas on how to fix it? Or if it's worth appealing to Garmont?

Fix your heel, fix your problem.

Just kidding, but it seems like such a fine opportunity to abuse a cliche. ;)

Most of my abilities involve the use of Google whenever I have a question about anything. The use of "cankle" as verb, adjective, adverb etc., on the other hand, I'd consider nothing short of inspired. "We encountered excessive wind-cankling" or "invitingly-cankled snow pillows," perhaps.
