What a weird day. A complete white-out from the top of Chinook all the way to the top across the entire mountain. And it stayed that way all morning. After a complete ski-by-braille run down the groomed valley and MIFB (not realizing I actually got to the top of MIFB until my skis slowed down), did a couple more down the ridge to MIFB. Again, blind. Worst white-out I've ever skied. It actually drove us back to Chinook where we cycled Deer Fly and Lower Bull for a while. Then, a couple runs-by-braille over on FQ, but the visibility was better due to the trees to guide us. About 11, the clearing started moving slowly up the mountain, but never really cleared in GV. Weird skiing down somewhat blind into sun at the bottom. We finally found our run down Elk Snort to Sluiceway, Berry Patch and big slushy ye-haw bumps in lower E. We also found a lot of slow, sticky snow on that route as well. But, it was clear enough on top of Elk Snort to see and the rest of Kelly's Gap was a hoot. So, we ddk'd the crap out of it.

Even though things cleared a bit on the top of the mountain as the day went on, I'm still giving it a 0 for visibility. A 1 for crowds...none. Now for the hard part. The snow we skied was quite fun. But, there was a whole lot of the mountain we couldn't ski either due to visibility or just unskiable snow. So, I'll error on the fun side and give it a 1 because it felt like a 2 out of 3 day once we found our run.

So, congratulations for a short random weather change that let us get a couple hours of one-run goodness? I consider it more of a rat-wheel run of fun, hamsters really don't get it done for me. Had a hamster when I was a kid and it always bit me. (You're not just trying to up your post count with random "congrats" are you?)

Second CD's report. The random late day and short lived clearing on the backside T2B saved the day. Off-piste was a mess of breakable crust over lumpy junk. Some of it softened into sloppy, heavy, glop. Invisible groomers of gray were interesting until a lump took me into a slide for life on Iceberg. I think it was Iceberg, vis was pretty bad. Best of the day were the smooth, soft bumps down Lower E. Didn't know until noon that it was a fun day. Gonna be some bad stuff when it freezes. Gonna need some major skier grooming when it gets warm.

Crowds, definitely a 1. Vis, combine the morning, -1 with the one-run afternoon 2, = 1, snow overall including off piste, 0. Our one trick afternoon, a bunch of fun. One, plus minus one, carry the.... subtract the vis, add the clearing, subtract the headfirst slide for life, add in too many lower groomers - or subtract them? Too much math, ended up having fun after a morning of where am I.
