When I say invisible, I don't mean it didn't exist, but rather the inverse visibility made it near impossible to see it. Feeling it, however, was certainly possible, esp. between the Fan and the crotch of Debbie's. The 8 or so inches of new up top thickened with each turn and by the time you needed to see, everything was covered in a fine mist from the persistent cloud which engulfed the padded seats all day. Over the six laps I put in this AM, I witnessed several over-the-handlebars double-ejections, got a refresher in wet sluff management and did exactly one top-to-bottom run down Nash, which was chock full of debris you couldn't see.

Bailed out to Silver Fir on the rising edge of lunch, where the visibility was much improved. The groomers were soft and the fresh gravel in the parking lot nice. Bagged twice as many laps as I did this morning at Alp in 4/3rds the time. The crowd was light enough to maintain 4 laps / hour even with the occasional break for PB&R sandwiches at the car.

Overall, a good day in the mtns, worth the drive and early wakeup call.

I had a great time

Conditions were manageable with the right moxie.

Elevator opened at 1130(?)....had too much fun riding other stuff never made it.

Similar to last week, no lines.

Good day for Alpy

the occasional break for PB&R sandwiches at the car.

Why did I read this as PBR sandwiches the first time?

Breakover held up pretty good all day. Some heavier mounds but navigable. I too only did one run down Nash-Snake Dance - Gala and got the point. At least the debris was soft when I got there. Oh, and vis in Widowmaker was so flat I got really surprised by a bump I know is there.

Well PB&R sandwiches is just codespeak for PBRs, so you read it right anyways

Of the lines up top, Breakover was one of the better ones. PB wasn't really worth the effort to get to, Edelweiss was filled with debris, and everything else got shralped pretty quickly. The only downside to playing in the trees was getting rained on by the snow melting off their boughs.

With a couple laps of human-groomin', we had the main chute on Elevator Shaft down to spring slush and skiing very well all afternoon.
