Yee Haa, I’mmm Baaaacckkkk. Back from the Purgatory of Maui (nice, but so much sun and heat, dang it). Great to be back skiing the deep snow pack. Light early crowd. Some almost broken clouds/haze, but the weather got worse, fog in places (PB and Campbell Basin mainly), snowing hard mid day into the afternoon was improving quality everywhere, some sun/heat impacted slopes early (M-World, Lower Doors, looked like Upper Bull but did not really check out that line), other places very nice firm packed powder with bumps growing like crazy (more Yee Haa’s). Found a few deep leftovers under the Throne rope line. Did some big runs EH – but I still hate I-5 and Exterminator/Gondy line, both very nice. Best conditions for us was BearPits - many times. A little goggle freezing fog the last couple of runs and wet snow on my truck at the base. Some almost lines on REX and a fair number on FQex during the pre lunch rush. Soups were Chick Dump and French Onion. Parking lots all full and even some cars in F lot (plus a lot of RV types). Great to be back fun day. Wish I'd had the energy to make it up yesterday...lookin forward to tomorrow.

Welcome back...you have been sorely missed....skier compaction and skier grooming on the frontside has been severely lacking with your absence.

PNWBrit( Banned) and I spent some time with our wives and got them on Chair 6( big advancement for Pam) .
Having been such terrific husbands, we rewarded ourselves by ditching them and heading to the Southback were we spent the rest of the day skiing a BC zone we had never skied before out Deep South.
Each lap was about a 40 min skin.

We measured about an 1" to an 1-1/2- new graupelish snow while we were out there which made each lap ski better.

damn, I tried all last week to get your wives up there!

BTW, I'm thinking Brit's wife should be ceremonially banned from TAY as well. Just to keep things on the up and up.

this thread is not about your wives,its about the triumphant return of DDK. Two soups in one report this is truly tremendous.Welcome home DDK,in your absence this almost turned into a place people post about where they ski.Welcome home ...indeed.
