Big sunny day, big views, little crowd, some heat, but still pretty cool most of the day, fair ridge top Northwest winds – but it got almost toasty down low on HC and REX, some softening in places, but firmed up rapidly as the sun angle increased, some mucky cut up left overs on the sunny slopes, but lots of nasty ice under the recent new plus random lumps, some nice relatively deep light new in protected places, some really smooth looking wind packed unskiable for me stuff in other places, Valley and SortElk had some very nice turns, the few groomers I did were pretty smooth and very groomed, PB and BP and Doors got skied – but I wouldn’t have forced any of my friends(?) to do them, soups of the day – Tomato and Brock Cheddar, beer was Fat Tire – very nice, most of the lift opps wearing snowboard boots today(especially Gab), pay lot had a lot of buses and a fair number of cars, seems like I remember cars parked in B and C, cant remember what I saw of the UCBC lot. Fun day, hopefully tomorrow will be even warmer.

Lots of rain and wind effects today. Wind blown ice or a wind packed breakable crust made us hunt for the stashes in-between. Likely academic as tomorrows warmth will change it all. The sunny Frontside, protected from the cool wind, went from unskiable wind packed crust to boot-top slop as it heated mid-day. Hoping there's a good radiant freeze overnight to help consolidate the sunny slopes for tomorrow. Northway's north facers were best (although Green Valley Bowl remained one soft spot throughout the day) and it seemed random where you'd hit the windpack or crusty ice. Groomers provided some top to bottom carving relief when needed and are in great shape. Power Bar on the chair, Rolling Rock on the Gondy, and I don't know what were on my feet, but they felt good. My car was in the parking lot.

And maybe Forest Queen won't breakdown at the very end of the day with bunch of people on it bouncing up and down wondering what was going on. Otherwise there was plenty of decent skiing to go around. Slopes above the bottom of the green valley chair had plenty of deep untracked as late as 3pm.
