Very nice day, good vis and some sun during the day, light early crowds most places, but the typical 10:15 surge as the late arrivals finally hit the slopes. Expanded my horizons all the way to SnortElk with a number of runs in GV – nice snow, no lift lines while we were there. Only mistake was running through the FQex and HC lift lines just before 11am – very painful (though we saw my younger brother Juan back and working FQex – long time no see and glad he is back, though the lift line set up was totally rooky). PB and BP’s good as usual and most anything else we did (except lower E – ugly). Fun day. Most of the day no lift lines on REX. Heard the soups of the day were Potato (hows that spelled Mr Quail) and Coconut curry something or other – again? (why not nice hearty Chick Noodle or Beef Barley?) Snow quality was good with some nice deep new, but those places that had to much traffic got beat down to the nice ice layer below. Pay lot made some effort today, rest of the lots and the edge of the Blvd was packed down to E lot….from what I could see the UCBCE lot had cars in it (cant say about the pee situation up there, though I did see someone in the A lot early this morning). Did notice most lift opp’s wearing some kind of foot wear. Lookin forward to casual Monday.

Good day indeed
Watch out for the death cookie at 2:40...
My buddy lost a shoe too hitting a cookie at high speed...
But the snow was so good :

The snow quality in Deep South was some of the best I have ever skied. Superb.

Great snow and crowds that were easy to outsmart and stay one powder run ahead of. Opened with Memorial for a couple untracked runs before the Northway and Six lights turned green. A quick Pucker's Gulch got us to NW with only 5 minutes to wait but it was 10 and growing to 20 fast as we loaded. Employee House Avie Line was nearly knee deep in places and the Chinook (no line) and Gondy (shorter than Rex) worked well for another E-Housing and then Exterminator run, wow. Tried to head Sixward but with the FQ line at 20 and rumors of 6 at 20 minutes, we bailed back to the Gondy and then Rex with no line for the rest of the day. The whole Frontside started as great untracked and ended as packed pow and fluffy bumps. At 2:00 we again sampled E-Housing (not a soul in sight), still pow if you skied in the right spots. Will be good packed pow and cut pow for the weekdays – Sounds like some daily refreshing starting tuesday. No soup; Cliff Bar lunched it with 6 new friends on the Gondy.

What time did they get Southback open? Did patrol get any of the aspects to slide? I was out in Bullion Basin and didn't venture into any big bowls for fear of windloading.
