The good news: waking once again to bombs going off and snow coming down.
The weird news: NO cars on the blvd.
This sucks news: No cell coverage, thus no internet and all the TV guys were knickers in knots over Issaquah and the something called the Eastside. Eastside of what ?
CM Patrol flat smacked it with all the AC done yesterday, everything opened early. Upper mtn was online before 9. North, South the whole enchilada up for grabs, no lines, no races, just pluck the low hanging fruit and gorge. Rumor has it there were less than 500 people on the hill today. If you weren't on the hill or at the ranch too bad due to road closures. That being said it was wind affected and heavy. Tuesday was faceshots, today it was chest shots with a firehose. Out of respect I hit both sides of 6, more than once, heavy cream, just point and go. Northway was SMOOTH. I ran out of gas before the day was done and didn't get South. Why hike when it was all so good. If the road is clear and the troubles on the Eastside are over I'm betting tomorrow will be even better. Some consolidation for sure with the rising temps, however we have some much needed base building out of the way.

Make certain to check the 410 highway report before you venture up. 410 closed at the fed forest forced a turn around back to greenwater and from going to work. Heard it was raining from mid mountain down in the AM. Shoveled snow until it started to snow again at the hill and how!! End of the day was the best. Blower shot-crete- Snow still on the high calorie count. Highway 410 still closed tonight due to massive amounts of tree fallings on the road.  Bummer to see forecast for high snow level and mashed potatoes  tomorrow cause it was showing some promise for another private locals only resort day.  :'(

E-gloating is unseemly!
Boy do I regret my decision to leave 2 hours before they closed the road.
Enjoy!

Duly noted, however I will continue adinfinitum. Friday was frosting on the cake for the few soles so cruelly trapped on the mountain. If only the walls at the Elk could talk. 3:10 with a little precip at the base. Funkification in progress.

Wally would have been a great snake oil salesman.
Don't let him badger you Scotsman.
Rather than chill on the Nortway I elected to ski top to bottoms. Snow was way thicker than the day before with barrels of frozen apples all over lower E.
But even though it was raining at the base to Deerfly the skiing was fun with no one to concern about if the conditions steered you wide. Started snowing at the base by 2
Frontside was sweet as the wind smoothed breakover made it so some speed could be achieved. Good to move away from the GV thick snow that pushed back at you.
