Crystal - 01/10 (nice)

Very nice Monday, haven’t done many over the last year or so, early load up the Gondy, on top long before the first folks up REX, lots of untracked deep new smoke left over from late yesterday. Still crust in places under the new, but some lines are starting to pack in. Knee deep in many protected spots (HC – ouch, Southback must have been big). Fun in the Valley, Elevator shafts, Lucky Trees, Bearpits and even more fun up on High Campbell where the lift lines were very “Defiant” again today…spelling hasn’t been my big suite since the 5th grade…dang…actually no lift lines anywhere today. PS…I have lots of complaints about some aspects of the way Crystal is run – lift line management, REX operation, expensive food in the lodges, but I really like the lifts that have been added – the Gondy has taken a lot more pressure off of REX – good for me and I’m lookin forward to May and June skiing, Northway sucks all the folks that don’t know better out that way which is even better most days. BTW – I don’t work for or get anything from Crystal – other than big mountain skiing – but I’m definitely (not defiantly) a very easily pleased squirlyhopper kinda guy on the slopes – like today.

The conditions today fit ddk's brain better than mine.  I struggled to handle the transition from skiing the big, icy bumps under the pow to the deep powder turns and faceshots.  Missing the transition meant sudden acceleration into either more big bumps, bad, or deep pow, good.  Thinking my butt was kicked, it suddenly ended as a pretty good day and looking back, a lot of fun.  Some good leftovers for tuesday but I'm anticipating a big day wednesday that looks more promising.

ddk:  Don't sell yourself short, you spell just fine.  It's picking the right suite of words in our stupid language.  But I agree, not your strong suit.

the Gondy has taken a lot more pressure off of REX – good for me and I’m lookin forward to May and June skiing,   

I am so finely tuned to the world that is all things TAY that I can foretell future threads before they happen.

I foresee threads complaining when CM close in April and they require a 2011/2012 season pass to be able to use the Ganjila to access the goods in May and maybe June. People with passes will complain that a season pass is good for the entire season while skiing is possible. CM management will be accused of being capitalistic running dogs etc., etc.

I reserve my place in these important threads that have not yet occurred .
I think I may have become a TAY shaman.
