Alpental opening

How were/are conditions up high? BC gates open?

way better up top.  Vis was variable mostly sunny on Ch2 with varying density fog lower mtn.  Snow was consolidated pow, thick but nicer then what i was expecting.  all in all a fantastic first day, especially when i was able to sneak away for a 3 hours w/ out having to use a Vay-k or sick day.

Amazing coverage even for Alpental in early December. I mean its like the "old" days!
The Local ski patrol private ski area patrol, had been out cutting the Hell out of the place, but, it was VERY IMPRESSIVE that the "SKI PATROL" opened chair 2 early, 9:00? WOW BTM is in a wonderous pertainental! REALLY....I just want to know...WHO is in charge? He is my god!!!
One thing was strange, right under the chair(2) above Rollen Cliffs was left completely alone, NO TRACKS, like it was ordered. Great pics there, I will try to lamely post a couple pictures.

Yeah, great opening day. Few rocks, none of the expected rain crust to speak of, and 'Nash was already open when I got there.

By noon, the weather looked like this:

It's amazing how much the crowds clear out after the main runs are tracked out. Really, the skiing was still plenty good even without untracked powder. (Heresy, I know.)
