Had 2 fine days with the families here.  3" fresh, then 9" the next night, made for great stuff.  Light snow, solid base, and snow almost daily for the last week +.  Some poor visibility near & on the ridges, but it was snowing, duh.  First time my goggles had ever frozen over on the outer surface.
With the wind and fresh the woods were filling in both days.  As elsewhere, noone was BCing due to the high avy and great in-bounds turns.  Lots of glades to get better depth perspective in, and few people in them.
Hello to mtngoat in Spokane who tried to join us, and also to TAY newbie John from Seattle---hope you had another good day today.
Demoed some BD Kilowatts that were really sweet.  They float over almost anything and smashed the rest; very damp and carved OK too.

Yesterday, Friday, was almost totally sweet at Schweitzer. Obscene amounts of powder. Vis good in the early AM but then challenging until around 3:00.

That was weird about the goggles which would form ice crystal. They came off easily with a handkerchief. As usual, the trees provided sufficient shadow and contrast to have a great and exciting experience.

Still skiing wind swept fresh powder on my last run of the day.

Big news here is that on Thursday the Basin Express chair (new) experienced a power failure. The chair was not working for over 1-1/2 hours and people were lowered off the chairs on a seat attached to a rope. The story made the Spokane papers.

Hoping for good visibility today for my last day at Schweitzer. Heading to Mission Ridge tomorrow then back to Puyallup.

OK, I'll go with "complementary". :)

The possible thrill of being lowered of a chair drove my family away early, on Th, but I was too psyched/foolish to ditch. I watched the Escape quad during lunch and when it had run continuously fo 1/2 hour I was back on. I didn't risk the Basin chair until Friday.

As you said, there was fresh/blown-in all day.

As a local on the chair asked me, "Tell everyone in the Seattle area that Schweitzer sucks." ::)

Yesterday at Schwietzer, Saturday, was one for my personal record books for powder skiing. Super cold, squeaky snow, thigh deep--virtually every run all day long.

By noon there was even some sunshine though the upper slopes remained cloudy and in white out.

The drive after dark to Moses Lake was challenging in blizzard conditions. This morning, we scrapped our plan to ski at Mission Ridge when we heard about the projected snow fall tonight and did not want to deal with that after dark and a long day of skiing.

To Crystal tomorrow.

Glad you hit it just right. I'd been hearing that Schweitzer was having epic conditions. 1.5 hrs on a chair lift would suck, big time. Hope they got more than a drink coupon!
Crystal sucks compared to Schweitzer and everybody should go there! ;)
