Great stuff! I'm very jealous.
I've thought about that line, but decided I like being alive. Ever been done? Here's a close-up picture:PUTlinkTEXThere http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Aeg1fot2YBU/Sx9QZvZZKKI/AAAAAAAADOw/fBKFI2_...
Haha, 175 Kilowatts. Those snowblade short skis would have been the ski of choice for that upper section/choke.
I took it close to Blue Buck Peak. I like that shot too and was just thinking about maybe skiing there this week.
Hell of a slideshow! Very well done.
Wow Kyle, sounds like you got your fair share of exercise the past few days! Nice work

Thanks guys, I changed the names to your suggestions because I think having names, whether official or not, are better than no names or numbers.
I was thinking the same thing.
Agreed, good decision and good writing!
Thanks guys, on such a gorgeous day and such a beautiful place, taking good pictures is as easy as it gets. Now naming the peaks, that took some time, was fun too. Just had to put it on my list of thi...
Yo Bram, loved the video and how the tune was synced to it. It was good meeting you up top, (I was the guy in the black puffy when the A-4 was flying around). Anyhoo, I'm glad to see the snow loo...
Nice work doing the classic Teton Pass double dip. For years my favorite after work /pre-work routine was to park above Wilson, hitch up, ski to coal creek, hitch back, then ski Elly or anything else...
Yep, you hit the nail on the head. That was the spot, and everything you described sounds accurate. Except the couloir that was triggered ran NW towards Tomyhoi, not NE. The wind was blowing hard on t...
I'm really glad we didn't go up the SE ridge which was where we were heading. It just looked slabby and we'd have to cut switchbacks on exposed terrain. It was more of a feeling to reve...
Great report and pics Jim! Looked like a spectacular way to spend a weekend.
Nice work! That line had me mesmerized on El D every time I turned my head around. I've heard it's called the CJ couloir (Cascade/Johan).
My best bet is that the trail to Stujack's is the easiest. I don't know what anybody else has done.
Great TR and that shot of Cayoosh is stunning!
Thanks Vertically Inclined. I prefer to just work hard in summer and ski fall/winter/spring/early summer. Gonna be gone for the next two weeks though, so no more posts for awhile.
author=Kyle Miller link=topic=14771.msg61856#msg61856 date=1260402651]Nice work heading out there. I pondered going into that general area but with marginal conditions and brutal cold it didn't s...
Jim D-That climb looked really fun and I'm stoked that a picture of mine was an impetus! ThanksJim H-Yeah it was a long day for one of the shortest days of the year. It's great to be able to...
The scree field was buried. That was where we ditched the hiking boots and bootpacked the first bit to get above the brush line, then skinned from there.
Chrism: Yeah that was us, being our first time up there, we thought the creek would be more direct. The trees were the way to go and that's the way we went down. But going up and down the sub-pea...
We switched to skins at about 3,000 feet, just before we wrapped around into the canyon. We should have switched a little earlier though and avoid some post-holing. If I would do it again soon I'...
The creek went well. I had to lean heavily on my poles and the rocks to step on were right at the surface of the water. In the morning they were frozen too so things were a bit slippery.
Thanks guys, I love that response! Get out there while the gettin's good!
