from May 13, 2002: April 7, 2002:  Mazama Ridge, Mt. Rainier National Park Ron Jarvis demonstrates his new method for improving the skiability of breakable crust. At the top of the run, Ron applied his patented mixture of vasoline, lighter fluid, and heavy bunker oil to his ski bases, and then ignited the mix as he began his run. Says Ron, "I'm still working out the kinks, but this method has real promise not just for breakable crust, but many types of difficult-to-ski snow." Ron hopes to bring his new invention to market by next winter, under the trade name "Jarvis JellyTM", and it will be available for purchase exclusively through this web site (more details next fall).    More details in this Jarvis Jelly update.
